“You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13
Often times we define the word leader or leadership by what we see in our boss at work. We evaluate ones quality of leadership by their success. They are good leader if they can rally people around them and get people excited for a cause. We often miss what is meant in the context of relationships. If we want to draw close to someone and get to know him or her, we need to be willing to allow someone to get close to us. That means we need to take off our own veils and state who we are and what we feel. God already knows who we are. He knows everything about everything. He knows and understands more about ourselves than we can explain to someone. This allows us to approach God about anything and everything in our lives. We aren’t going to surprise God by saying we were upset or angry about something. There is no shame in coming to God and discussing with Him your impure motives. He already knows them! Don’t hide from God by trying to put up a mask. He can see right though it, and He cares more for you than your mask. How does this relate to leadership you may be asking? Everything. Leaders don’t have to be the one who is running a company or organization. Everyone can be a leader. Draw close to God and be open with Him allowing Him to show you how to drop your mask and be real with others you want to draw closer. Take the lead and begin to take down your mask between you and God and then between you and others. You will find freedom in being who God created you to be. You will also find that by being real with God and others, your relationships will grow deeper and more solid.
“In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.” Ephesians 3:12
